Brief Description: Added A Button To Engage GPU Relay
I got a new high-current battery charger that is microprocessor controlled and is suppose to do a much better job of keeping the battery correctly charged when it is connected. After connecting it up to the RV-8 via the GPU (Ground Power Unit) plug, however, I discovered that the new charger wouldn't start charging until it saw at least 4 volts from the *battery* (this was confirmed by reading over the charger manual a couple of times). The GPU relay on my RV-8 is setup to activate from a +12 volt voltage coming from the *GPU*, so the new charger would never turn on. I added a small push button next to the GPU plug that now allows external activation of the GPU relay which enables the new charger to work correctly. Sweet.
